Another "lock down" today at an elementary school here in the Valley. I turned on the news at my Grandparents house this afternoon to see live coverage at the school. Apparently someone was shooting at someone right by an elementary school. School officials were notified and all the gates and classrooms were locked. No one in, no one out.
Yes, I can understand the safety precautions but can you imagine being a parent and seeing your kids' school on the news with something like that going on? Do they even call and notify the parents in a situation like that or do they (the parents) find out about it from TV? If I were in that predicament I would want to go and snatch my child up right away and take her home!
Things have just become so scary at schools. Makes me grateful that I am able to do what I do.
